Kerals.com , Boologam (Malayalam Blogoshpere) and some issues!

For the last couple of weeks, so much is happening in the boologam (Malayalam blogoshpere) in which Kerals.com is involved. Content theft, cyber stalking, threatening, invasion into privacy, hosting hate web sites , raising the racist cards, what more.. , Kerals.com has shown their true colors. This special blog post is in support of the fellow bloggers who stand up to fight against kerals.com.

Content theft
As we all know by now, the contents from various Malayalam blogs were lifted to fill the Malayalam portal section of kerals.com. This was first reported by Saji and there are a lot of posts which clearly mentions the extend of plagiarism done by kerals.com. Another site http://www.mazhathully.com/ has lifted the photos from the photoblog of Thulasi and Kumar.( I had sent a greeting to Kumar which uses one of Kumar's photo published in his blog, he saw that and informed me that he has written to Kerals.com to remove his photos from their web site.) Kerals.com and mazhathully.com belongs to ( GoDaddy.com check) one 'Anashwara Group of Company PVT LTD' which many say is using fake addresses in US as well as in JK, India. When I checked now, http://www.mazhathully.com/ site is in a suspended state. Other sites maintianed by Anashwara groups includes

Cyber stalking, Threatening, Invasion into privacy
Comparing with content theft, I feel that this is more serious one! Your posts are stolen and then you complain about it with the site owners, what should be the response from a responsible and a professional company set up? Threaten those who have complained? Ridicule those who have complained? Send manipulated emails to 'create a feel of your email address is hacked, we are so powerful'? Create fake ids in the name of those who have complained against them in porn web sites they own? Well all their responses clearly reveal that 'Anashwara Group' is not a professionally set up dignified company.

Hosting hate web sites
Yesterday evening, I could see a hate web site been created by one of the persons in the kerals.com team. In that he was using one of the comments in the blog post to trigger some regional support by bringing up the 'racist allegation' cards. He is asking support of all Tamilians in this issue with out actually mentioning what is the issue and misleading the public with out showing the screen shots in details. One of the screen shot shows a partial view of the comments in Inji's blog and claims that comment was by Inji. But the screen shot doesn't show the name of the person who has commented.! Well, kerals.com too provides a link to this web page along with the notice of the closure of their malayalam web site section, they still support the stealers.


From the posts available in the blogs, I understand that Saji, Peringodan, Injipennu had to face severe threats from the kerals.com team. Some bloggers like Valliyammai, Mayoora, .. others whose contents where stolen also had to face some rough treatment from kerals.com team. They apologised to Kannus. With strong protest and action from the Malayalam blog community , they were forced to close their Malayalam section after they found that the issue was getting out of their control.

Friends, we all feel blogs give us the freedom to express and speak out to the world. Along with that freedom, it also brings us some responsibilities like standing up for the freedom which blogs provide, support fellow bloggers who blogs without misusing the blogs! Let us all keep aside the minor personal differences we have on various issues and stand united in support of those who have suffered in this issue, let us stand united in support of those who are fighting for this cause!

Anchalkaran in his post mentions why we need to fight against Kerals.com even if they have closed their malayalam blogs contents section!
